US Biathlon Team
Road to Sochi
Gold Medal Campaign

Dear Friend of the US Biathlon Team,

Last season was historic for the US Biathlon Team.  Tim Burke took a World Championship silver medal, Sean Doherty won a gold and two silver medals at the Youth World Championships and Dan Cnossen and Andy Soule medaled in the Paralympic Biathlon World Cup in Cable, Wisconsin.  Susan Dunklee and Lowell Bailey continued to log top-ten finishes and were ever so close to the podium.  The support of members and friends like you made these performances possible.

With 35 days to go before the team marches into the Olympic stadium in Sochi, Russia we need your help to ensure the athletes get the support they need to win America’s first Olympic Biathlon medal!

The athletes are doing their part, focusing on excellence day in and day out – doing the hard work on the path to becoming the best in the world.  Tim Burke demonstrated the tenacity of our athletes at last year’s World Championships where he had a disappointing start. As he lined up for the 20 km Individual, he set aside the earlier defeats and focused completely on the race ahead.  Tim’s years of hard work came through on that day as he won the silver medal.

Our high performance staff and coaches have prepared a fine-tuned program that utilizes the most advanced training methods and technologies. The team continues to receive increasing support from the US Olympic Committee, the US Biathlon Foundation, and our loyal sponsors. But to beat the highly funded teams from Norway, France, Germany, and Russia, we need to do more. We need you to help. That is our tradition in America, it is something we do better than anyone, and it is something the Europeans do not have. When you make a gift to the team, you are saying, “I care,” you are cheering-on the athletes.  They feel the nation is with them and that gives them the energy to go just a little farther. And in February when you watch the team march into the Olympic stadium and compete for America’s first Olympic biathlon medal, you will know you are a part of the team behind the team that made their journey possible.

Please consider making a special Olympic size gift today so we can continue to give the athletes everything they need.  It is easy to contribute now by clicking on the PayPal button below to make your donation.  To say Thank you and to commemorate your role supporting the US Biathlon Team’s Olympic journey, we have some very special Thank-You gifts.
